I think the oil pump imploded on my WRX at the Donny show at the weekend! I had to get recovery out to get home. The car was still running OK when I pulled up but oil was pouring out from behind the cam belt cover at the front right hand end. Hopefully it is only the cam belt and oil pump that needs to be replaced.
Does anyone have any recommendations on the type of oil pump to use? I also thought about fitting an oil cooler.
Thanks

i seen a silver one being pulled. It wasnt yours was it mate. being pulled by and evo... Oh the shame..
Hope its ok mate.
Ive never heard a bad word about the RCM oil pumps. The are modified versions of the standard oil pump... If its goo enough for them then im sure its ok for mere mortals. IIRC they are about £180.. check the scoobynet shop.

I spoke to HDS Subaru this morning, they are changing my cam belt and fluids. I asked about fitting a new pump and Howard said that he has not seen many pumps fail it's normaly the pressure relief valve that fails, I'm having the a modified one fitted in the original pump...just a thought before you spend loads of cash.
