Worth getting Rad recored or new intercooler ?
im fitting a chargecooler to my classic, the charge cooler rad i have will need recoring, this wil be about £50.
is it worth it or shall i try n fit a FMIC rad, only problem with this is the piping i have for the chargecooler wont be long enough or big enough to fit the FMIC rad.
cheers

Can't speak from experience with chargecoolers, but have done a fair amount of watercooling with PC's and I can''t see why the philosophy is any different.
The basic theory is that flow rate (ie the size of your pump and also diameter of the pipes) is far less important than the ability of the rad to dissipate heat.
So, I'd say get a FMIC rad and just use some silicon piping to connect it up to the chargecooler. I dont think it matters too much that the pipes differ in diameter as you'll just have a constant flow of liquid in the system anyway (The turbulance and restrictions that would effect air flowing into the engine should not be a big factor in a closed water system).
Big new rad, would be my choice.
