MY94 on US gas... How should I go about upgrades?
I have a 1993 Impreza L and Ive installed the complete 1994 wrx drivetrain Its running great and I havent ran into any major issues so far(fingers crossed) Im shooting for 280hp or so.. I would like to keep some amount of reliablity and still keep up with the US Sti's, if possible.
The problem I see is that most of the ecu or chips available I imagine would be created with premium UK fuel in mind. Our 93 octane is equal to your 95-96 octane and I think that would create a problem for any fuel maps contained in base ecu maps or chips.
So what would you all suggest? So far ive upgraded the fuel pump to a walbro 255lph, the stock unit was designed for 1.8l N/A, and I have plans to purcahse a turboback then figure out how to upgrade that junk plasic IC piping and IC. What should my future plans be? I think I can keep the td05 but should I look for larger injectors, fuel rails, fpr? I guess I just want to know what I need to achieve my goals

What, you don't like the answers I gave you on Nasioc?
For the tuning, go here:PolarPerformance
Scott T. is your man. I am fairly certain that his scoobyecu tunes (and ESL of the shelf tune) were orginally meant for 95RON which would be ok for our 92PON gas (thats Power Octane Number we use in the US). To be honest though, I have had no indication of detonation with the Z4 ECU on 92PON, although I can tell the power pickup when I run 94PON (about 98RON).
