Default Is this boost gauge goosed?

If the Defi boost gauge looks like this before its fitted and wired in to the car is it broke? Know its meant to read negative on idle but hoping once its plumbed in to the car it will reset itself ensuring the needle sits on the resting pin.

Hard to say. Stepper controlled gauges can rest at weird places before they're installed. Only thing I can say is power it up and see if sweeps properly. I had a set of Prosport gauges that were all over the shop before I installed them, soon as they did their first opening ceremony, the sweeps were fine and they work perfect.
