Also, 96-97 240, 97-99 280 and 99-00 240 again?

The MY98 WRX wagon was 250bhp. The MY's either side of this were 240bhp. The earlier ones were 240 or less. Sti wagons were always the same as 280 as STi saloons.

So is the FAQ wrong? The 250bhp bit?

Nearly right if you had quoted ps you would have been spot on but about 217bhp/220ps

OK I'll go and look in the book: Impreza WRX Sports Wagons
Sep 93 - Aug 96 = 220ps@6000rpm / 280Nm@5000rpm
Sep 96 - Aug 97 = 240ps@6000rpm / 304Nm@3000rpm
Sep 97 - Aug 98 = 250ps@6000rpm / 306Nm@4000rpm
Sep 98 - Aug 99 = 240ps@6000rpm / 309Nm@4000rpm
All STi wagon versions same outputs as STi saloons.

That should pretty much cover it? Best all round is the MY98 (mine!), best load lugger is the MY97, best overtaker is the MY99, and low powered with an awkwardly high torque peak is the early wagon.
