Default hot or cold plugs ???? whats best??

when i was tuning my skyline last year i bought some iridium plugs but before that i was going to buy hotter set ones. a tuner then told me the cooler plug is better when tuning etc as it is better for the engine.....the thing is i am doing a group buy on ayrshire scoobies and some one wanted pfr7b platinums(£23 a set ) and i have got pfr6b's (£16 a set) on my sti which are fine and correct to my knowledge...anyone got the REAL techy info as to which is best suited to lightly tuned wrx and sti cars....including uk cars too ! looking for 100% accuracey on this ! cheers rab.......

PFR6B is fine for standard and to about 300bhp beyond it is of benefit to go for the colder PFR7B imho..

Rab just about to have my WRX remapped by Andy F and he has told me to go for a cooler running plug and has suggested an NGK heat rated 7. I am after a set of NGK PRF7B. I am up in Glasgow and would be intereted at that price. Where abouts down in Ayrshire are you as I work with some lads from Monkton and Stewarton who could possibly pick them up. Drop me a PM if this is possible.

cheers

NGK go one way on their ratings, Champion are the other. A bigger number on one is the same as a smaller number on the other. Don't guess though. There are conversion tables out there.
