Default uk300 Intercooler on a My98..

Ive got a Uk300 intercooler with visions of fitting it on to my 98 turbo wagon, i have taken the old one off and offered the new one in its place and seems to foul a multi plug thingy on the intake manifold by the dump valve on the new cooler. i have done a search on here and can only find 99 onwards information on fitting and the part thats causing the problem is in a different place. once i know where the cooler is going to live ill fabricate some mounting brackets to suit.

i suppose it could be sorted by using a longer intercooler to intake hose and a different y piece but does anybody have an idea of an easier way?

thanks

Rich

I think your referring to the coil pack, one solution is to shorten the mounting posts of the coil pack.

Read this........

I realise its a slightly different setup but it should help, certainly helped with my install

thanks for the reply, the coil pack on mine is further forward on the manifold than on the one in the sti8 guide. the thingy is bolted to the manifold with a gasket, looking from above its almost round with an elbow coming from the rear then a pipe going over to the intake pipe after the maf. looks like the same thingy is mounted right on the throttle body on later models...

thanks
