Default How do you get the WRX Sounding nice?

Hello All

Just bought a 2007 WRX import and am chuffed to bits with it except for the sound from the rear (there isnt one!!).
Had a look on scoobyworld at some exhausts but is it that i only need the backbox and air filter to bring out the great sound of that 2.5lt boxer engine..

Please Advise

Regards Paul Leeds

hi zaxs, glad your enjoying your car. the exhaust i believe is keeping your car quiet ! i changed mine for a full decat miltek which now sounds fab (done at zen). but i am sure there are alot of sports cats out there that can help you with the sound. drop us a pm if you want any info on what ive done.

Yes it will, fitting a PPP I think is your only option at the moment, but they sound good not too noisy driving around town, but open it up a bit andyou get your roar, the burble sounds great too.

In theory it would but quite a few dealers seem to overlook it if it's just the backbox, just changing a backbox will not give you very much of a performance gain but will give you the flat 4 burble, you could try the Ninja from Scoobyworld which i have as it's not overly loud but does sound nice

I would say no it shouldn't my m8 had Nur spec R b/b on his STI8 and it didn't affect his warrenty dealer never said owt anyway

Just had a Hayward and Scott straight through centre and Jap style rear box fitted to my MY06 WRX. Well chuffed with the sound and have noticed a performance increase too.

Pick up a second hand Prodrive BB plenty for sale. It will give you a nice sound not too loud and will only set u back around £120-£140 and doubt if any dealer will have in issue with it.

I would just fit a Back box from Haywood and Scott, that will give a nice sound and if you need to return it to the dealer, it wont take to long to unbolt it.

Or even like said get a second hand Prodrive Box and they wont question that.
