New Scooby owner needs some advice :)
Hi all,
I'm picking up my first Impreza this weekend and was after a little general advice, please let me know if this has already been posted elsewhere...
I've brought a 2001 (51) Impreza WRX and just wanted some general hints and tips for running and things to look out for on the maintanace side. I've seen a bit mentioned about turbo timers on the older models to prolong it's life, but does this still apply to the "newer" models (2001 onwards) ?
Also, I live in Fleet, Hampshire, can anyone suggest some good/cheap servicing alternatives to taking it to Subaru?
Cheers

turbo timers are not necessary just leave on tickover to let turbo revs die down if you have been giving it some spirited driving. when you switch the ignition off and the engine stop[s so does the oil flow to the turbo.

Thanks for the info, after reading some other posts I rekon a turbo timer isn't needed, I live on a small estate so will be driving fairly slowly during the last part of my drive home
