Question ANY IDEA???

I have just brought a subaru impreza hks sqv dump valve with front mount, on e-bay and have just asked the seller if I needed a fitting kit or anything , and he replyed , " all depends wat fitting you have is it fmic or top mount ? if its fmic then you shouldnt need anything, but if top mount you will need to buy a stem for it". Does anyone know what this means ???? I have a Impreza AWD turbo "00",

cheers
Dre.........

Would have thought a FMIC would have been miles too big to go on as a TMIC.

The HKS SQV has a a flange type connection to it. The HKS FMIC pipework has a suitable boss to which the SQV may be attached, it's held in place by a circlip. If you don't have an HKS FMIC then you don't have a suitable boss to attach the flange of the SQV to and so you'll need to buy a "stem"; this basically presents the necessary boss for the SQV at one end and at the other end it is just a pipe that can be inserted into a boost hose and clmaped down...

That said, the MY99/00 Impreza OEM dump valve is bolted directly to the TMIC. In order to run an SQV you'll need an adapter that has the necessary flange for the MY99/00 TMIC on one side and a boss on the other... of course if you have an FMIC then if it's HKS you can just attach the SQV directly but if it's not then you can usually use a a "T" Samco to attach the stem to...

Hope this makes sense ?

Cheers,

Pat.
