Hi, I have seen this thing on ebay that puts up the boost pressure for the turbo, I was just wondering if it will actually work and will I notice a difference.

What d'u reckon?

Heres the link.

Do a search for dawes device (dawes is another type of bleed valve, but the ebay one will probably work in a similar fashion)

Essentially it's a bleed valve, and yes, it will make a difference It will let you set the boost pressure, but you have to be careful with it to avoid getting too high boost pressure, as that can lead to:

* detonation (i.e. the fuel igniting before it's supposed to do - kills your engine very quickly). This is also known as pinging.
* Fuel cut - The ECU in the car will cut the fuel off if the boost goes above a pre-set level (I'm not sure, but I think it's something like 1.3 bar on a classic)

Also, to set it up you need an accurate boost gauge.

What model year car do you have, and is it an STI or WRX (UK or Import)?

Hi thanks 4 the reply, very helpfyl. I have an 03 WRX, pretty much standard apart from a CAT back exhaust and a dump valve. Thinking of a remap soon but not quite yet, need to save the pennies!
