Default NEWBIE EXHAUST RECOMMENDATION REQ'D

Want that burble sound on my new 2002 WRX - which exhaust can people recommmend?

Will I get that same sound without a full system and only a back box? I would like to de-cat but pain at MOT time.

hi mate,

i've got a 05 wrx ppp, i had the prodrive system on it and then upgraded the back box to a ninja one. this gave a louder burble than the prodrive one, but still not enough for me so had a trip to scooby clinic and had the d cat centre section fitted, this again made it even louder and deeper, but again still not loud enough so saving up for the d cat front pipe, just looking for the best place to get it at the right price

hope this helps, let me know how you get on

matt

90% of the sound comes from the backbox IMO

Plenty of back boxes to choose from depending on how loud you like it. The Prodrive one is nice and subtle, as is the Scoobyworld Racebox. TSL group N is good value. Ninja and Blitz systems are louder. If you fit a straight through centre section, you can make it louder and still retain the downpipe cat for MoT time.

Try ebay because there's usually a good selection and you could pick up a bargain.

Definitely get a back box first the center section will add a bit more noise to it.

I'd recommend a scoobysport one, make the best sounds, arent too loud and dont get annoying at motorway speeds.
