Want to upgrade MY99 that has PPP
I have a 1999 Impreza turbo which alread has the prodrive performance pack on the car, now I am looking at replacing the CAT downpipe with one that has a built in fast flow CAT, the centre pipe, an uprated fuel pump and recirculating dump valve.
What I want to know is firstly with the PPP does any one know if the ECU is just re-mapped or if it is "Chipped" when ProDrive add these bits. Then secondly with the new bits I intend to put on, would the ECU need to be re-mapped or will it be fine as it is?

PPP is a re-mapped ECU, after 96/97 (don't quote me on exact dates), the ECU is a re-mappable one. Only the older ones need chipping. You can just get it re-mapped again, for your new mods. But a PPP ECU goes for more money that a standard one. So you can normally swap your ECU for a standard one, plus cash your way.
