Question What causing my AFR to turn off at WOT

My Air fuel ratio gauge is working perfectly when driving normaly.....

the usual night rider effect up and down from lean too rich.

But when I press the throttle to the floor no signal (no leds)

This happens only on WOT otherwise everything is all hunky doory?

I understand that at WOT it switches from open to closed loop but what's that telling me......? Am I right thinking Lambda sensor? Or could it be something else?

I'm sure it's all set up right!

The car is 100% standard so I'm sure fuelling is all good?

Cheers

Plums......

you ran out of resolution most likely, are you using the stock O2 sensor?
It only measures to approx 11.2-11.3 and then saturates

Thanks Prana

Could be? but wouldn't it go right off the scale on the rich side just before?

Because it just seems to be at around 1-2 bars into rich then dissapears completely, there are another 3-4 bars in rich that haven't been lit.

Cheers, Plums.

Gruezi. Keis Probleme but remember I do not have any idea what or how your device is connected, scaled, so what is 1-2 bars relating to, scaled to ? Yes it should move towards the rich scale before saturating, perhaps there are other reasons.

Closed loop aims to obtain a lambda of 1 - hth

I think the gauge goes to 1.0v.... each bar is 0.05v could be wrong I'll check it tomorrow.

But it just goes blank..... everytime.

the signal just seems to switch off at WOT comes back once I release and press the throttle again,

Cheers,

Plums...

I suspect you have hooked it up to the wrong lambda wire. Have you taken it directly from the sensor's outputs or from the ECU?

I've taken it from the ECU white wire with silver lines? I think it's the right one as the readings I get before WOT seem fine!

it's a MY99

Cheers,

Plums.
