What are you having done? I had a GEMS ECU fitted to my bugeye in a package and this was supplied and mapped by Steve. He has always answered any question I have asked it might have taken a few days to get an answer, depending on how busy he is at the time..

Not taking anything away from Steve. He's done a fab job of mapping and refining the map during the course of the build.
How do I rated the upgrades? Awesome but be aware, mine's quite specific since I wanted a road/track car. I could have gone for more power and stripped it but it would have been almost unusable on the roads...

hello, it's wrx on 54 plate, did ask that question to steve and he said it would be ok, but i am concerned about it, but he said todays boxes compared to the boxes of say 7 years ago even in standard form are alot stronger, so im in a bit of pickle as what to do, i'm open to other options and opinions from yourself and anybody else on the site, its all appreciated, i just want to have a scooby that is very fast and reliable. many thanks scott

Well I've had all standard cars: 2002 wrx with 27000 miles; 2003 wrx with 34000 and both of those had iffy boxes. My current 98 STi had a new gearbox albeit at a high mileage. One of guys in Herts Subarus (I recognise you've signed up with us ) had a 04 wrx with over 300 lb ft and that had niggles too. So, in my experience you could say I don't think the boxes are too great.
