sticking ICV

Default sticking ICV

Hi my car is idling at 1500 rpm sometimes higher but 1500 seems to be the norm from cold, iu think the icv is sticking, how do i cure this?

I have replaced the maf and done an ecu reset!!

if yopu have any other suggestions that would be great!!

I used to clean the ICV on my old car (Punto Turbo) with Carb cleaner spray. It was easy to unbolt. I'm still finding my way around my Subaru engine at the mo, so I wouldn't even know if the ICv is removeable, or what it looks like!
But if you can, try that.

cheers i have done that many a times, just wondered if there is another method. mine is a classic 1999, the icv is located just below the top mount intercooler, 2 screws which go into the manifold, and has a black connector in it!!!! I would imagine others should be around there or there abouts.

Replace it with one from a scrapppies. Sounds like the air cut valve inside your IACV is knackered, and I promise you there is absolutely no way of fixing it if it's gone.

yours will be on the right of the throttle body with a plug in the top of it if you are after one I have one 4sale

Mine runs at 1500 RPM when cold, think they all do, what is the idle like when warm?

mine idles at 1400rpm cold and usually about 600 - 700 warm, i had replaced the maff tried the reset of ecu via the connectors under dash but didnt work so disconnected the battery for an hour then bingo idling fine, it was the maf after all that.
