Threads stripped in clutch fork
im in the middle of taking my engine out. Took the 10mm allen bolt out of the gearbox to reveal the pin and noticed the threaded M6 in the pin has had a bolt snapped in it. The previous owner must have goosed it....
How the hell do i take this out now... Mucho help appreciated...

yes mate... the pin is now FLUSH instead of threaded. I cant get the gearbox off now... How the hell can i take the box off now... Raging... Mangaged to get the engine out with box in place... so have a bit more room now.

Hang on a sec...I was fettling this myself last year because my clutch release fork kept coming loose (it was the release bearing in the end)...the pin was just greased and just slides in and out, it's not screwed in or anything. So the idea is to screw a bolt in the end and then pull straight outwards on the bolt head and the pin slides out.
When you say the pin is now flush, do you mean there's literally nothing to get hold of with a pair of long nose pliers? Any grip you can get on the end of it at all should be enough to ease it out. If you can't do that your alternative is to drill into it, screw a self tapper in and bob's your uncle.

Great minds think alike then. I had a recurring nightmare with mine. At first the end plug on the pivot was totally missing and the pin just gradually working its way out. Fixed that, but in the end, the clutch fork totally came adrift and once I got the gearbox taken off for me, the spindle bit that the release bearing runs on was all worn down. What a ******* that was, needed a new gearbox.
It's all running lovely now though, got a new box off of API, changed the crappy old rubber clutch hose for a nice Goodridge one I made up, rebuilt the slave cylinder, now the clutch action is totally solid.
