Apexi Power FC and boost solenoid question...
I'll be fitting my apexi ecu shortly and getting it mapped, however I have been advised to upgrade the boost solenoid from my 2-port (version 3 sti), to a 3-port.
However, if I was to fit an apexi solenoid from an avc-r boost controller, but use the apexi hand controller to control boost, not an avc-r....would this be a better option?
Basically, I'm about to order some more parts from Nengun, and see that I can buy just the solenoid from the apexi avc-r, and wonder if this would be better than fitting a 3 port solenoid from an earlier car?

I've got a Power FC on my MY98 WRX, mapped by Zen. Just before I took it in, I fitted a 3-port solenoid, and there are absolutely no problems up to 1.4 bar. Depends what's cheaper though. Once the Power FC's in, it just needs a solenoid that will work. Standard Subaru 2-ports work up to a point, 3-ports do pretty much anything, an Apexi one may well do the job very well.

very slightly more accurate control with the apexi 3port solenoid on the ones I have mapped compared to the OE 3port using the PowerFC to control the boost..
Either options work very well though.
