Default DO MAFs ALWAYS FAIL

i have been reading some threads on this and just wondering if mine is likely to go i have a uk300 with a induction kit and full exhaust same as quite a few just wondering if the one on my car is as weak on the 99 ones like i keep reading about it is worrying me abit, but it starts and runs fine cold and warm(touchwood) any advice grateful thank you

No, only on Subaru. Most MAFs on other cars outlast the car easily, regardless of what mods the owners have done. Seems v5-6 MAFs on Subarus are prone to vibration, the wrong kind of filter, old age, cosmic rays, big exhausts, atmospheric dump valves, leaves on the track etc etc. From the reports you hear, they're pretty much doomed from the minute they are manufactured. Take that how you want to, but if your car's running fine, enjoy it.

Newage 01> MAFs are, I've been reliably informed, much stronger and far more reliable. 99/00 are the worst and are replaced regularly particularly if induction kits are fitted - Oh and not forgetting those nasty cosmic rays !
