Speed Sensitive Power Steering
how does this work on the impreza?
the engine turns the pump, but how does the speed of the car effect how much power assistance there is?

not sure on impreza but on my old 206 there was a speed controlled switch in the hydraulic line that presumably restricted fluid pressure when at speed
maybe impreza got similar set up

The System uses a Variable capacity pump on the later models(2003 on),the Variable being controlled by an eccentric ring in the pump.
