Changing MY03 VF37 Turbo? But to what?!
Hi all
I have a JDM MY03 car... so it has the IHI VF37 Turbo standard...
obviously with this turbo being a twin scroll, i am wondering whether or not i can simply "bolt" on another turbo - for instance a 20g.
Would it just be a question of changing the downpipe to a "non twin scroll" variant?
or is it simply a question of having to buy a twin scroll upgrade, similar to what they offer at powerstation?
Thanks.

I have a JDM MY03 WRX STi.
With right mods the twin scroll will be as good as a 20g. I expect top end will be better on the 20g but the VF37 will be better lower down. So in IMHO i would not go for a 20g as very little change.
Powerstation are a good bet as I think they do a replacement uppipe which fits the twin scroll headers but then allows the attachment of all the single scroll turbos giving you more options. It would be best to speak to them but I think they have a number of options.
HTH.
