Fitting Ninja Sports cat on 2003 WRX
Has anyone fitted a Ninja fast flow cat downpipe to a blobeye wrx ?
I installed a Ninja sports cat downpipe on my 2003 UK wrx on the weekend.
I had to get someone to push the back box torwards the front of the car so that i could get the center cat pipe to bolt to the resonator section as there was a 1 inch gap. the exhaust is now rigid it has no movement on the rubbers as thei pulled back towards the front of the car.
not sure if this will cause a problem
All the gaskets and bolts were replaced with new parts
Is this normal when changing most of the exhaust
My system is comprised of ninja dp > h&s center decat >standard res>ninja BB

somethings not right with the pipework.
It should mate up as per a standard system.
i had a similar problem when I fitted a scoobyworld centre section
See if you can spot the difference in fit :
Afterburner : Centre and rear box on hangers, front not connected
Front Flange now mounted, Centre hanger stretched due to mis-alignment
Tailpipe hitting bumper and also pulled in/forward
H&S :Centre and rear box on hangers, front not conected but aligned O.K
Front Flange mounted, Centre hanger O.K
Tailpipe O.K, protrudes further then with Afterburner, but the same as a standard centre section
This shows the differences both in pipe, fit and tailpipe alignment between scoobyworld afterburner and H&S
But in my case the Ninja sprts cat shown in the pictures is fine and aligned as per a standard system, it was the centre section that was at fault.
this was due to the centre section being too short and with slight tolerance issues with the bends. Fitting a standard centre, Magnex center or H&S Centre and things line up perfectley, as I have had all of these on this car at some point.
In the end scoobyworld replaced their centre with an H&S FOC.
