Rattle on deceleration?
I have a rattle from around the turbo area of the engine bay at deceleration, at about 1500rpm down to about 1000rpm, then the rattle stops when it drops lower. No rattle on acceleration and does seem to be boosting well. JUst wondering wether it is most likely to be a heatsheild or something else I dont want to mention!!
just read a thread on the technical area about the wastegate making a noise down the exhaust? I know for a fact the previous owner had messed with the wastegate but had then told me he had put it back to normal, could this be causing the rattling sound? I dont have a boost gauge so it is hard to tell if it is as he says ' normal'
it could be the wastegate but that would do it all the time not just off throttle /decelaration. do you have lightened flywheel /pulleys ..
there is a couple of threads on here about this one being mine . its one of them things thats realy annoying but yet no one has an explanation.the only thing ive been told is that its called lightened transmision syndrome it dosnt happen on all scoobs just a minority one being mine ...on deccelaration there is a metalic rattle sound ..ill see if i can find the other thread and post it up for you
