Help please! Car suddenly won't start
Car is a MY97 Jap import.
I had an engine rebuild back in October last year, and an Apexi ECU, with mapping, Walbro pump, standard air filter and intercooler fitted about 10 days ago. The car has been used everday since then without a problem.
Came out of work today (Saturday working sucks
) and car just wouldn't turn over. Sounded as though the starter motor wasn't trying to start. If I tried for more than about 3 seconds I got this repeating click click sound coming from under the bonnet.
Thought to myself "should still jump start as that should bypass the starter motor". OK that was a guess, and possibly wrong, but the jump start worked. Chap from Green Flag turned up as I got it going and said it couldn't be the starter motor as it wouldn't have jump started, and even though all the lights etc were working, it was probably the battery. I got home after driving for 20 minutes, and tried to restart it straight away. Nothing, apart from just about 1 cycle of the starter motor.
Any ideas?
I can try swapping the battery with one in another car, but I fear it maybe the motor itself.
