You know it would help if you told us what model impreza you had. Is it modded? Does it do it all the time, or just when cold?

Anything else you should tell?

DV fitted? When cold or hot? Have you tried an ECU diagnostic/reset by connecting the plugs beneath the dash? Last service? Does any pipework have cracks or splits and all connected properly? Are all connectors under the bonnet pushed in tight? etc etc etc etc. . . . . . .

More often than not us Subaru owners just shout, 'bloody MAF, its gone'. Agreed, it could be failing but there are simpler things to try before you go buying a MAF.

Problems of this type could be soo many different things. Its just a case of gradually ruling things out.

Need more detail..
