Question +12V for select monitor/OBD port?

Is it correct that +12V should be supplied to a pin on the SSM/OBD port (98 model), to enable the interface? Don't want to fry my ECU

No there is a 12v supply to the socket already, no need to apply 12v anywhere to enable the interface, just talk to it using the correct protocol
