Hi there could anyone tell me why my 99 Impreza Turbo 2000 AWD is cutting out at 4.5-5000rpm in 4th 5th and 6th gear. It does not happen in the other gears! It really is doing my head in as it is just like when the engine hits the rev limiter and cuts out then come back on again.

sounds like the 'overboost' limit cutting in................sticky actuator, split pipe, incorrectly sey-up boost controller, etc. can all affect this................
