Funny clicking noise ????
Can anyone tell me why i have a rapid clicking noise from my 2000MY UK impreza turbo, it has been remapped to suit mods but can't remember it doing it before ?!
I have located it to a little unit that is bolted to the back of the n/s inlet manifold just behind/below the coil pack , it has 2 vacuum hoses to it and a blue coloured plug connector ??
Can anyone tell me what this is and why it is clicking so fast ??
Thanks

Boost solenoid is on the front left strut (looking from the front of the car) just behind the airfilter box, if I rember rightly it's blue and black and marked denso, on the MY2000 should have 2 vacuum hoses connected to it.
Good luck,

Yep that's the ones, green to green. simple test to see if there connected is just to switch on the ignition lights (without starting the engine).... if things start to click, wurr, cooling fans come on intemitently and so on then it's connected.

Checked the connectors and definately disconnected , the noise is also definately not the boost solenoid or the idle valve .
If you have got a top mount on it would be quite hard to see , but as i have got a FMIC you can clearly see the small black unit bolted to the manifold just behind and below the ignition coil pack .
It has a blue coloured electrical plug one end and 2 vacuum hoses connecting to the bottom end which is a browny colour ?!
Any more ideas ??
thanks .
