02 wrx ecu reset...again sorry
hi guys,
lots of confusing entries on here regarding this subject.
is it possible to reset ecu without obd cable and laptop.
some say disconnect battery but others say it doesnt work on the new age model??
will ecu adapt to new fuel on its own and if so how many tanks full will this take?
any ideas appreciated

ta simo,
was readind up on it from a tuning website that said it didnt work for resets but if the ecu learns quickly anyway then i wont bother doing it.
have you had any experience with fuel changes/change in performance?

yes, they learn quickly, if for example you have a bad tank of fuel and it compensates for it then it doesn't take long to adjust forward again when you get back to good fuel. Older ecus would need a reset for this kind of scenario. Don't think there is much to be gained from resetting it, what exactly is the problem you have ?
