Default Oil Change

Guys I did an oil and filter change 2 weeks ago, used Millers 10w-60
pre filled filter etc, I could only get 4 litres into the engine, it was showing MAx on dipstick, i checked it a couple of days later and it was still on max, two weeks later i have checked it and it's on minimum This is odd because the car uses no oil at all normally !
Where have I lost the 1/2 a litre There are no leaks as far as I can see and no sign of it burning any either
Im really confused about this and a little bit concerned the engine is about to blow up something !

Hi Mate,
The filter holds about 1/2ltr. So it looks like you put the right amount of oil in there. Are you checking the oil level when the car is cold and on a level surface?

Hi Mate,

yes when I first checked it was on a slight angle so rolled the car back so it was flat, I guess all I can do is keep an eye on it, it's odd though because the engine was rebuilt as a 2.2L and since I have had it there has been no oil usage at all !
I have been driving it like i stole it for the last couple of weeks though

mmm, a 2.2L sounds a bit yum!
you considered a pressure gauge? I can't get a reliable oil-level reading where I live so I just put in the designated 4.5ltrs and keep an eye on the pressure.
I have noticed my 2.0L burns off a bit more oil if I've been driving it hard.

did you allow the oil in the filter to soak in for a while? i filled mine to the top and left it as i drained the oil and then was able to add alot more into the filter.i was surprised how much i did get in.
