Question Dodgy fuel perhaps? Power Loss

This morning I was running really low on fuel-the wife had run it into the dregs last night. Stopped and whacked a bit of V-Power into my 2001 WRX (PPP-H&S downpipe, no other mods) and as soon as I pressed the loud pedal up to around 3000 rpm I am getting virtually no boost (a little but not much)

When it gets to the 6k range it livens up a tiny bit, but it almost feels as if I have hit a brick wall in the midrange and the turbo is not functioning

Got home and checked all hoses, intercooler hoses, turbo hose etc etc no issues there. Its running fine on tickover etc

Could this be a dodgy batch of fuel perhaps? Or does it sound more sinister

Car was working absolutely fine last night...

could be that the ECU has switched into safe mode. Not sure on the resetting sure you can do a search for instructions

Just a quick update, I ran the car until the small amount of vpower I put in had gone and I was very low on fuel. Filled up with Tesco super and the car was back to normal immediately after I pulled onto a quick enough road to put my foot down. Just for the benefits of the search.

I think it may of been a dodgy batch of fuel!
