Default Oil temp. after oil change

I recently changed the oil and filter on my 03 STi and have noticed that the oil temperature is now generally higher than before!
The previous oil was Millers CFS 10/40 and the normal oil temp was around 90c (sump mounted temp. sender) I'm now using Millers CFS 5/40 and the temp is now 95-105c The only other change from before is the use of a Purolator oil filter from Opie oils, This filter is the same size as the original Subaru filters before they went all tiny, so it's marginally closer to the exhaust manifold where it crosses the engine, but this, surely, would not make a noticable difference?
I've noticed small changes in oil temp. following oil changes before, but this is higher than nornal.
Any thoughts and has anyone used these filters?
