i have an hks induction kit fitted to my94 and it sucks like a goodun but when you change gear or come of the throttle you get the same noise as you would get from a dump valve whoosh , is this right ?

so how do you get the chatter sound like some cars make ? do you need an aftermarket valve ? or which valve makes the whistle like sound rather then the woosh sound or the psssh sound ? as i heard an evo whistle sound everytime he changed gear , sounded like the rally car whistle !! i expect your gonna say hks or blitz which are well pricy !

I've got a Forge recirculating valve on my v4 WRX and you can clearly hear it dumping even though I'm still running an airbox. It does sound quite cool tbh, like a clash of swords every time you let off, even though it's fully recirculating. The standard one does it to a lesser extent - you can hear it on high boost, although it's much more of a chuffing noise than a ring or whoosh.

Turbosmart doe a high pitch whistle one , Ive got a DV12 on my wrx and thats high pitched too whistle/whoosh there not to pricey either and fine if your running normal boost. If your running big power i suggest spending some good wonger.
Is your original valve working correctly? the noise could be inlet back pressure back feeding through your filter.
