Default STI ECU will fit a wrx???????

hello
I bought an STI v4 ( my97-98 ) ECU with intention to fit in a WRX of same version.
Does anyone knows if it will fit directly or needs to change something.
I know I might ask before but.........the mistake is done.
thanks in advance.

i know v5 and v6 ecu is interchangeable. have tested it before. I am sure a 97gt and sti v3 is the same. of course you have to use the sti motor or you might blow up the wrx motor

the engine is full modified to support the high power increase. but Im afraid regarding the STI ecu as my last experience was to fit a P1 ecu in my version 5 GT and didnt work. it was necessary swap the crank and camshaft signal delivered from sensors to ecu.

will be the same in this case?

try getting hold of the ecu pinouts for both ecus and comparing them. I'd imagine it would work but don't know how much improvement you'd see from swapping it as both WRX and STI cars of that year produce 280bhp anyway. You'd be better going for a mappable ecu such as a power fc.
