std what - up pipe/down pipe/ centre / main section ?

The std downpipe has heat shielding, the std up-pipe has heat shielding and I'm not aware of many ppl wrapping much further back than that

Do you mean remove the standard heat sheild from the manifold then wrap it?

If you do, thats what Harvey does when he ports standard headers and seems to get great results, but i think its more from the porting then the wrapping, but not too sure. Could always pm harvey!

If you mean leave the standard heat sheild on the wrap it....not too sure about that.

AFAIK only downside to wrapping headers are steam when wet (could always spray the wrap) or fire if oil drips on them!
