Default FORD KEY PROGRAMMING

does this have to be main dealer?
bought a run about fiesta ghia, and its only come with one key.
and no remote central locking fob? can you only get programming done by ford as it says in manual to prog a kay you need two already!

What year is car?

Is there a visible colour square on top of the key?

its a1998 S and yes the key has the red immobilizer chip

You can get a full working replacement without going to the dealer
Many Shoe Repair shops (like ours) have got the BIANCHI or SILCA Transponder system, and this can programme Ford Texas chipped keys without the need of the master.

The average cost for this would be around £50 (far cheaper than Ford)

If you had the Master Key - Whole top bright red, this would cost around £18 for a spare

The manual mentions two keys to programme a new one, this would be the case if yours had a blue chip (Texas Crypto - very late 98>) Luckily you have got the standard Texas

thanks , finally sorted !
a place in Bradford does all transponder and key fobs !
£40 top blokes too!
fiesta giving 45 to gallon
scoob 23-27
but still miss the power and flat four beat!
as soon as weather clears shes due a good thrashing and renew the smile on my face!
