It will fit, but you will need a V3/4 dumpvalve (black one) as the MY99/00 bolts directly to the intercooler.
Think you will also need the two black rubber pipes aswell.
There isn't much difference between the two intercoolers. You could just fit the alloy pipe to your UK intercooler. Much more free flowing than the black plastic uk pipe.

The main difference between the sti and uk intercooler is the size of the end tank, as you can see in the picture.

Hope this helps.

The v4 WRX one is very similar to the v4 STi. The only difference is the WRX TMIC is painted black and has a ****ty plastic pipe underneath. In terms of performance it's down to the WRX's corrugated plastic Y-pipe strangling the airflow and nothing else. Or to put it another way, the STi's 'better' TMIC is down to its smoother metal Y-pipe alone. The sizes of the actual intercoolers are identical and so is the construction of the cores.

Therefore the alloy Y-pipe on your STi's may be a slight improvement on things but another option would just be to flog your STi4 TMIC complete and buy yourself a Samco turbo hose kit for £50. That way you may claw back some money - people always pay money for STi TMICs even though in version 4, it's basically the same.

So they are basically the same even if the dump valve goes in slightly different place. The I've got is painted black so is it not an STi one then unfortunately I cant check the hose its not to hand

Silent Running is correct, see the thread below with the link to the test. Intercooler performance shouldn't be judged on looks alone.

Thoses tests were did not use the alloy why pipe though. Plus, did you see the state of the fins on that sti intercooler??? No wonder the flow was poor!

Chris I'll admit I'm not the world's authority on intercoolers, but in your picture the top one is not as good as a v4 WRX or STi TMIC because it has a cutout in one corner. If it's a v5/6 TMIC then I have no idea why they would have made the end tank smaller than the v4 WRX's

The bottom one in your picture looks like a v5/6 STi because of the colour and dump valve, using a crappy WRX/Turbo 2000 plastic pipe.

I'm not sure what you are saying the two TMICs are in your picture. But it looks like if you put the top Y-pipe and bottom intercooler together you'd have a full v5/6 STi TMIC.

The one fitted is pretty much the same as the top one but the I bought looks the same as far as I can tell apart from where on the pic where the valve sits theres a metal pipe that goes left (due to intercooler in pic being upside down)

As I said before, you will need a different dump valve to the one you have on your MY00 UK Intercooler. You will either need an after-market dump valve (like below) or a standard re-circulating valve from a MY97/98 and the pipe work.
