Default Fuel pump

I,m going to change my fuel pump today to the walbro one but i,ve been reading the fitting guide,s and was wondering if i,m best leaving it till my tank is nearly empty? is this really neccessery or can i do it on my tank now which is 3/4 full? silly question i know but i dont want fuel all over me

just disconnect the black cable o the battery.
