Default New noise on tickover

My type r has been running like a dream, but starting up tonight i have just noticed a slightly whistling noise on tickover that seems to be coming from the front drivers side. Sounds like a slipping belt / or something - noticeble inside the car and outside, even above the firestorm, but its more a ticking/whistling if that means anything to anyone

Can't see anything as its dark. Any ideas before I head off to my local Subaru dealer.

Haven't driven it, so this is only on tickover.

Squirt a bit of WD40 around the front pulleys, If it goes away momentarilly , it's most likely noisey belts or the Aircon compressor clutch assembly , assuming it has Aircon of course

Does the whistling part sound like someone blowing across the top of an empty bottle?
