Ouch, hope you got your 'flame suit' on? Sounds like you're hitting fuel cut??

Overboost is what it was in my UK MY99... Bought it not knowing there was a bleed valve thing on it which had been turned a bit too much. One turn back and all was fine...
Subarus retarded mechanics missed that and tried to charge me for a new wastgate solenoid I didnt know any better, then I found SN and I was at peace

If it's totally standard it sounds like you're hitting the fuel cut momentarily. This happens when you get too much overboost for the ECU to handle. Usual cause is oil or gunk in the boost solenoid pipework as a result of overfilled oil. Do a search for boost solenoid and you'll find how to clean it out.

I have done a search and no one actually tells you how to clean it or how to resolve this problem?

People have deffo spoken about how to do that. If my memory is correct the suggestions were to remove all the associated pipes and give everything a blast through with brake cleaner to remove any gunk. Double check that though.

Hi all. I have the same problem with my 2000 uk scooby if I floor it in 4th or 5th gear, the only difference is mine has had uprated fuel pump high output fuel regulator and the boost electronicaly uprated to 1.25 bar (roll roaded at 260 at the "fly"). Do you think that it is the same problem and is there anything I can do about it. Will it or is it doing any harm. I am just a new scooby owner and have not had a turbo car before. All input very welcome. Ps I have not stopped smiling since I got the car, Best thing I ever spent money on.
