yes, when you take suspension off a car you should always do the tracking,( most plsces dont bother tho) as it never sits in 100% the correct place, simply take your car to somewhere that can do 4 wheel alignment e.g. subaru

also make sure your tyre presures are all ok, usually a low tyre presure will cause both sides to scrub down quicker.

Cars straight from the factory often need alignment due to tyre eating

Probably your tracking.

However, when I had my local Subaru dealer fit Prodrive springs, they said that I should be aware that the Prodrive geometry settings could result in excessive wear on the insides of the tyres. Got it done anyway, car handles much better and haven't yet noticed the wear as of yet.

is it the inner or outer edge? what about the rear tyres? did you ask previous owner if the car had a geometry setup done as this can make the inner edge wear faster.

I think we have clearly established that just the tracking needs doing then ?

Wear on the inside of the tires can be because of the tracking, but on a Subaru it's normally due the amount of "negative camber", because it's a common method of reducing under steer.

The downside of increasing the negative camber is you will wear the inside of the tires more quickly, especially if you do a lot of motorway/A road miles.

Could also the 'driving over the cambered edges of speed cushions' be a contributory factor?
