Lightbulb Temp sensor ? where is it ?

hi , newbie to the forum thing,

after scannning a manual for the classic impreza's i still am having probs finding the location of the water temp sensor . Can anyone out there offer any adivce.

Follow the top rad hose towards the engine.
It joins a cast aluminium pipe that is bolted to the top of the engine block (runs under the inlet manifold).
On that pipe about halfway along is the "water temp sensor"
