Causes for fuel cut symptoms on bends
Over the last 2 days my classic has started to feel as if it's cutting the fuel going around medium bends (islands). Car begins to jerk as I exit the corner until I reach the straight section? I am not attacking the bends just driving normally.
Now my fuel level has been in between 1/2 & 1/4 of a tank.
My car has never done this in the past with even less fuel & quicker bends.
So what are the causes for this?
I will try to check it out over the weekend but just need some input & thoughts as to what has gone wrong.
Thanks Ticky

Its more of a left to right then straight on with a touch of camber.
But on a serious note why would of it not happen before when with fuel levels that have been nearly empty?
I will try with more fuel tommorrow but I think its something else causing the problems.

You've got to determine if it's fuel cut or fuel surge.
Surge is when the tank is low (or not that low as I've had it at a thrid of a tank) and cur is when the ecu cuts the fuel in an attempt to protect the engine, normally from too much boost.
You made any changes to the car recently?

I dont think its overboost fuel cut as the boost gauge read well under 1/2 bar. My car never goes over 1 bar at any style of driving (still running my old tired engine).
I just hope it is surge, fuel going to one side of the tank & starving the pump.
Otherwise it will mean more headache to resolve a gremlin problem.

[QUOTE=ticky]The only thing I did was fit a new carpet over the weekend?
There are some fuel pump connectors under the rear seat,on the drivers side.
Might be worth checking these just in case they got knocked when you fitted the carpet.

I was thinking this myself just incase I have disturbed anything, will have to do this over the weekend in better daylight.
"i would suggest checking for clog in the fuel filter system as your first step or replacing it"
Thats one thing I never thought of so will change that too.
Could a weak or failing pump be the cause too.
Thanks Ticky
