Default some headers questions.

Pretty sure im gonna go with a set of harveys ported headers and matching up pipe. After i have them fitted am i going to need a remap for it to work well with my other mods?

My mods are:

VF34 Turbo
K&N panel filter
Full decat magnex exhaust system
Walbro fuel pump
NGK7B plugs
ECU-TEK REMAP

What are the benefits of having the headers and up pipe heat wrapped? Are there any gains? The car is a P1! Cheers.

Firstly more heat stays in the exhaust, so under bonnet temps are less, which is a good thing
Secondly the hotter the gasses the quicker the spool, another good thing

No brainer, well worth doing!

If the only change you are making at this time is ported headers in place of O/E then a remap is not essential but to get the best out of the ported headers you would benefit from a remap.

What sort of power/torque benifits would you expect to see with ported headers on a UK turbo already running 277/266 on the td04, without a remap?
