95 import wrx, aerial is on back left quarter.

Basically it wont wind down and you cant push it down either!! all you hear is a grinding sound where the motor is trying to wind it down.

as i know nothing about them what steps can i take to fix it, does the whole motor have to come out for example.

Sounds like its buggered, probably a lot less hassle just to replace it.You could put a post in the wanted section on this site, or try specialist breakers.

Have you seen cleaning and lubricating it? Try wiping it with 3 in 1 then see if it works
