Default Front O2 sensor

Anyone had to change one of these (MY01 WRX).
Mine's failed and brought up the light on the dash. ECU Explorer shows fault code P0031 HO25 Heater control circuit low (Bank 1 Sensor 1).
Troubleshooting in the manual shows this as front 02 sensor heater circuit. I'm going to do the wiring checks it suggests in the morning but does anyone know roughly how much they are and if you can get the genuine ones on-line cheaper (ie Bosch or whoever makes them),
Cheers, Andy

sit down,The front one is a wide band, only available as o/e part and from memory about £260

Try grade A or similar for a secondhand one

WHY do you need to use an OE sensor? I read on another post that you can use a universal fit one, Titania 3 wire lamda sensor and also a 4 wire one wiring up the 4th wire to a better earth.

I have the same error message on my 01 bugeye WRX.

Hmm, thanks for that but i've not had much luck with cheapo sensors on previous cars. Usually more trouble than they're worth.
It is the sensor, the heating element is open circuit.
Have scoured the internet and the motor factors but no-one else supplies them (it's Denso p.n. 2349011 or Subaru p.n. 22641 AA042).
Price from all the dealers i've phoned is the same £283.20 + VaT
At least it's easy to change and the car hasn't cost me anything to run in the last year other than fuel and tyres.
Oh well...

Big , big thanks to Fiestaboy for that lead on where to get a used sensor.
I picked one up from there yesterday for £100 and fitted it this morning. After resetting the fault code (using EcuExplorer) all is well again.
I reckon I'd be looking at a bill for £400 if i'd just driven to the local dealer and asked them to sort it.
to Scoobynet and to Tari Racing

Thanks also to David at API who offered to get me one
