Prodrive Cat Downpipe. WRX/STi
Can anyone tell me if there will be any problems fitting this to a MY01 bugeye WRX with standard turbo. This came off an 03 but I dont know if it was a WRX or STi.
I believe the WRX/STi turbo's differ and the splitter in the neck may cause a problem on my WRX.
If I can fit it does anyone know where I can get the heat jacket or shall I just heatwrap with normal heat wrap tape ?
Thanks
Martin

that's the question lol.
It was only on previous car for a cpl hundred miles after it was PPP'd so I'm sure it's supposed to be there, but will it fit on my turbo, if not then I'll get it cut out.

It IS meant to be there to stop wastegate gas flow from upsetting flow out of the turbine. Don't cut it out.
If it is being fitted to a std TD04 then you'll need a spacer (H & S).
Are you sure it comes off an 03 car? They had a blanket already fixed on - why did the last owner take it off?
The model from 05 onwards has the blanket built into the steel body so no need to add extra insulation.

Thanks. Just what I needed to know
I'll get a spacer ordered.
No idea why the jacket wasnt on it. Owner crashed the car after a cpl hundred miles of having it PPP'd and stripped some bits off before it went to breakers. Car was a 2003, but the PPP was done in 2005 so maybe it's a later model downpipe. It has the serial No's on if I can tell by that ? Its at work at the moment so I'll have a look monday.
Why dont other open necked downpipes have that kind of 'splitter' in the neck ?

I have just had this fitted to my newage sti. I dont know what model it is off but it fitted no probs, i believe wrxs do need the spacer. I have also been told that the outer jacket is not required as it is made with it on. Its the earlier 02 cats that require heat wrap.
