Please help with my00 classic
My00 classic is running 250bhp 265lbft of torque, but I want more!
It has,
a full de cat exhaust
cotton green panel filter
walbor fuel pump
remap at scooby clinic.
Now what shall I do?
Bigger top mount intercooler? If so, which one?
Or, a front mount?
Bigger turbo? TD05 ?G or VF?
Different injectors?
Anything else?
Don't want to go to the expense of changing the internals.

250BHP is a bit low if it's been remapped. You should be getting near to that without a remap and those mods.
A remap running 1.1/1.2 bar dropping to 1bar should get you 270-280BHP.
The standard Top mount is good for 320BHP, as are the injectors. But you will need a bigger Turbo i.e VF24/VF28, TD04 Hybrid or TD05 to get there.
A VF28 running 1.3bar should see 300BHP+
A remap running 1.1/1.2 bar dropping to 1bar should get you 270-280BHP.

not much difference between them, the exhaust housing is larger on the 34 = slightly more top end, however the smaller housing of the vf35 = quicker spool up.
the vf34 does have a roller bearing that aids its spool up slightly. where as the vf 35 is sleave bearing.

TBH Most people I've spoken to say there is little between them.

bad news is it sounds like you got a not very good engine, nothing wrong with it mechanically, just not as close matching tolerances with the parts in it compared to some.

cheapest i have seen a brand new vf34 is from flat 4 online for £675 (and free postage!!)
haven't seen too many second hand,
lots more vf35's available second hand though, tend go for about £300
vf28 is the sensible choice (and cheaper) as you definetely wouldn't have to upgrade the intercooler, and makes the possibilty of breaking the gearbox less likely.

VF28 would be a good choice, std IC will work but Sti8 better, FMIC best especially if you use WOT a lot, get some ported headers from Harvey as well, a remap to compliment your new mods and it will be a real nice strong daily driver.
