Try ESL mate. They do a daughterboard chip for the spare socket for £200. I've had mine fitted for a couple of weeks now and it's like a different car. The improvements aren't just with the noticeable increase in power, but the driveability throughout the whole rev-range.

I've got a Scott Taylor chip waiting to be fitted to my '94 WRX ra. Just need to find someone good with a soldering iron. Hopefully next week.

Done a few other mods first before fitting the chip. Fitted a knocklink, boost gauge and fuel/air mix gauge, and also a STi 4 intercooler.

I fitted mine myself which took about an hour, but if you're not good with a soldering iron I think ESL offer fitting.

Jay yes the other ecus have a spare socket its just that the z4 is a better starting point (which i presume is why Prodrive used the z4 map in their ecus).
I'm just trying to get more power for as cheap as possible tbh although getting a power fc may be better in the long run.

But by fitting the chip it wont run from the Z4 map anyway so makes no difference so the Z4 could be sold which would give you money towards the chip
