sti v2 heads will they fit on std MY97 block?
After some cambelt woes got the heads off UK std MY97 turbo, a few minor witness marks on the piston crowns where the inlet valves just kissed the pistons.
In the garage I have a closed deck block engine off I don't know what, which has trashed #3 big end and crank ....but will the heads fit mine? The the pistons have much deeper pockets, the cams have 1mm less lift and heads have different design of valve shims/lifters parhaps bucket under shim (where as mine is shims over buckets)
Any ideas appeciated!

yes they will fit.. you will need the cam covers for them though as the phase 1.5 97 has different to the phase 1 sti2 engine.
You need to buy head gaskets carefully though as it may effect compression / valve clearance.. Mark who posts as Lateral Performance should be able to advise and sell you suitable head gaskets.
The under bucket shims are better but the cams on the 97 are slightly wilder I believe..
